Many of us need help navigating the health care system. The UCSB Health Care Facilitator (HCF) Program is here to help you understand the UC-sponsored medical, dental and vision plans and assist if you have a problem you cannot solve. The program is open to staff, faculty and retirees.

Local Health Facilities
Many of the answers to these questions can be found on your medical plan's website, or on the website of the medical group (or groups) to which your doctor belongs. Medical groups in Santa Barbara area include:
- UCLA Health- 3 locations: Santa Barbara, Montecito and Goleta. Currently only accepts our PPO plans (UC Care, CORE and Health Savings plan)
- Sansum Clinic- Accepts all UC insurance plans
- Santa Barbara Select IPA- Accepts all UC insurance plans
- Jackson Medical Group- Accepts all UC insurance plans
- Lompoc Valley Medical Center- Accepts all UC insurance plans
- Cottage Hospital – UC Care members- Please do not assume all providers at Cottage Hospital are UC Select Tier 1, check Anthems provider directory to confirm if provider is UC Select Tier 1, Tier 2 Anthem Preferred or out-of-network prior to booking appointments.

Medical Group Affiliation: If you belong to an HMO, your Primary Care Physician will usually refer you to physicians in the same group. This information is only a general guide. There may be more pertinent information you should consider prior to choosing your doctor on the health plan provider directory website.
