Celebrating staff service milestones is not just about acknowledging the years worked; it's about affirming the significance of each of our staff member's role in shaping the vibrant fabric of our campus community.

Staff service milestones serve as a testament to the dedication and commitment of individuals who tirelessly contribute to the success of our institution. These milestones acknowledge the wealth of knowledge, expertise, and dedication that staff bring to their roles every day.

Congratulations to these staff members for their longevity and dedication to the University of California, Santa Barbara. Thank you for all that you continue to do in service to the students and the campus community!

Honoring employees for contributions and commitments to the university.

The time you dedicate to your career at UC Santa Barbara is important and celebrated! We are so thankful for all of the amazing work that you do on campus and want to show you our appreciation; your work does not go unnoticed!

The Service Award celebrations take place each year in May, during Staff Appreciation Week. At the event, we celebrate and acknowledge UC Santa Barbara staff who have achieved a milestone anniversary. Remarks of appreciation are delivered by campus leadership, and staff receive a service pin as a small token of our gratitude for their incredible impact on the UC Santa Barbara campus.

Eligibility

Staff members are eligible for service awards after completing at least 5 years of service. In addition to receiving a service award, employees are given a higher accrual rate for vacation after 10, 15 and 20 years of service. Employment service credit is used to determine service time for vacation accrual rates and eligibility for service awards.  Please note that employee service credit does not accrue in the same way as, and should not be confused with, retirement service credit or seniority.

Congratulations to this year's Staff Service Award Honorees!
