RE: Expanded Paid Sick Leave

To help UCSB’s staff and academic employees prepare for the upcoming expansion of paid sick leave (effective Jan. 1, 2025), UCOP has published an informational article and page with frequently asked questions on UCnet:
In addition, the implementation team will be hosting a webinar geared toward Kronos approvers, department timekeepers, and payroll managers. This webinar will cover how we plan to implement the change in the UCPath System and will not go into depth regarding the policy and eligibility. The webinar will be held on December 11th, 2024 at 10:00 am PST. The invitation will be sent via email.
Note that because the new policies expand sick leave for some populations that do not report time in Kronos (e.g. faculty), and will therefore need to enter sick leave taken directly into UCPath, we strongly recommend that all departments send at least one representative to this webinar.
