Anthem Blue Cross contract negotiations (update-time sensitive)

RE: Anthem Blue Cross contract negotiations (update-time sensitive) 

We have been communicating with the Office of the President over the weekend and are now able to provide some additional information.

Anthem Blue Cross and Cottage Health

UC will continue to treat Cottage Health and Pacific Diagnostic Labs as in-network in the event that the negotiations between them and Anthem fail and there is a termination in the contract(s) effective April 1.  The only impact to members enrolled in UC’s PPO health plans will be that they will not be listed in Anthem’s provider directory at that time.  It is very likely that there will be an agreement by or shortly after March 31 so that members would not be impacted at all.

The Anthem Blue Cross and UC Health 

These negotiations do not impact any of our members who are enrolled in UCCare, Core and the Health Savings Plan.  These plans are governed by a separate UC-Anthem agreement and this agreement is effective until 2025.
