RE: California Minimum Wage Increase Effective January 1, 2023
This is a reminder that the California minimum wage will increase from $15.00 per hour to $15.50 per hour effective January 1, 2023. This change primarily impacts students in casual-restricted student positions.
This change will be coordinated centrally by HR with the UCPath Center. The process will identify active appointments in UCPath with an hourly rate of less than $15.50 per hour and will create a new pay rate of $15.50 per hour effective December 25, 2022 (the first day of the bi-weekly pay period closest to January 1, 2023). This process is scheduled to take place in December.
UCSB salary range minimums that fall below $15.50 per hour will be adjusted in TCS effective January 1, 2023. The job titles impacted by this change are:

*Compensation for positions identified as BYA must be in compliance with the California State minimum wage law regardless of how they’re set up in UCPath (hourly paid, recurring additional pay, or one-time pay).
