RE: Child Care & schooling resources for campus employees.
As we enter our sixth month of these challenging times, there is still a lot of uncertainty, especially for those with children at home. We want to assure you that we are here for you to support our working parents in whatever ways that we can. There are now several new and updated resources available for working parents that I’d like to share with you.
The Childcare & Education Resources Grid organizes several childcare and schooling resources that are available to you depending on your child(ren)’s age(s). It is not an exhaustive list of resources but will hopefully aid in your childcare search.
Additionally, there are two upcoming workshops, specifically focused on the needs of our UCSB working parents:
Thursday, September 3 at 11am & 2pm: Childcare and Schooling Resources Parent Discussion. Click on the above links for zoom information.
Working from Home with Kids: ASAP Wellness Workshop - Please look out for more information including how to register, coming soon from ASAP!
Visit the Work-Life Resource Webpage for other Work-Life and wellness resources. Myfamily.ucsb.edu also provides a centralized location for families to find information on child, youth, older adult, and family services, broken down by academic, staff, and student type.
If you need assistance navigating any of these resources, or need help with workplace adjustments related to childcare concerns, please reach out to me shira.minerd@hr.ucsb.edu. Starting Friday, August 28 you will be able to submit a ServiceNow ticket to Work-Life as well.
Wishing everyone health and harmony.
