RE: Open Enrollment 2019-Good news and new options
Open Enrollment – which begins today, October 25 and ends Tuesday, November 20, at 5:00 p.m. – is your annual opportunity to review your UC benefits and make changes for 2019. There is good news about premium costs, important changes to domestic partner eligibility and Health Net Blue & Gold, and a brand new benefit: pet insurance.
"We are satisfied with our efforts overall to keep most plans affordable compared to our peers and still provide high value benefits to faculty and staff," said Dwaine B. Duckett, vice president of Systemwide Human Resources.
2019 highlights:
• All 2018 current medical plans will continue to be available for 2019
• Most employees will see an increase of less than $6/month
• Protect your pets with UC’s new voluntary pet insurance
• Expanded Eligibility for Domestic Partners effective 1/1/19
• Health Net Blue & Gold HMO is now UC Blue & Gold HMO. Health Net will continue as plan administrator. Behavioral Health benefits will be provided by Managed Health Network (MHN) replacing Optum Behavioral Health.
