Dues are set by the Board of the UCSB Emeriti Association. The association is currently moving to a "Pay What You Can/Pay What You Want" model of membership. Membership is complimentary for the first year. Members who are at least 85 years of age are exempt from paying dues, as are Honorary members; but, they should continue to renew their membership annually so that we can update any changes in contact information.
The Emeriti Association is a voluntary, self-supporting organization. We depend on membership dues to cover operating costs (supplies, printing, postage, room rental for meetings and events, etc.) Your annual dues payment also covers:
-
Social and cultural events for members
-
Administrative costs of the triennial survey of emeriti activity
-
Membership in the Council of University of California Emeriti Associations (CUCEA) and travel expenses of the UCSB representative to attend CUCEA meetings
-
A portion of CUCEA meeting expenses when they occur on the UCSB campus (approximately every five years)
-
Membership in the Association of Retirement Organizations in Higher Education
