Employee Housing Assistance Programs

The UCSB campus is committed to assisting faculty and staff in finding suitable and affordable housing both on campus and in the community.

Coastal Housing Partnership (CHP)

UCSB is a member of the Coastal Housing Partnership (CHP), a group of local employers that have joined together to offer their employees a Housing Assistance Benefits Package. This package provides financial-assistance programs addressing common obstacles to purchasing a home, such as the down payment and closing costs. The Office of Loan Programs at the UC Office of the President

The Office of Loan Programs at the UC Office of the President manages housing assistance programs for faculty and senior managers. Additional information can be found on their website, or by calling (510)987-9000.

The Faculty Housing Office

The Faculty Housing Office (893-3772) offers assistance to faculty with loan processing and reselling of condos at West Campus Point. Currently, there is a waiting list and the wait time can be up to 2-3 years. There are sixty-five 2-3 bedroom units ranging in price from $238,600-250,000. Faculty can view them free of charge at. The Faculty Housing Office is located at 6750 El Colegio Road. It is recommended to call for an appointment.

World Savings

The University of California has finalized an agreement with World Savings to make available a variety of home financing products to all University employees in California and New Mexico. In addition to standard secondary market loan products, World Savings has its own internal portfolio variable rate loan product that provides a wide range of options regarding repayment. World Savings has committed to offer the following home loan discounts to UC faculty and staff:
