- Learn about the range of skills necessary for effective management
- Practice describing their behavior objectively
- Receive assistance and guidance in making well-grounded decisions about career choices and development activities

As an Assessee:
- All University of California supervisors, managers, or professional staff at the Administrative Assistant III level or above are eligible. Participation in this program is an expression of interest in self development and provides an opportunity to identify existing managerial strengths and focus on skills which need improvement.
As an Assessor:
- Managers and professional staff in positions equivalent to the MSO II level and above are invited to serve as assessors. Assessors observe and provide feedback for the assessment of the assessees' managerial skills during the off-site program. Assessors receive intensive training and practice using a feedback method which promotes effective appraisal and constructive interactions.
Call for MSAP Assessors!
Assessors are needed to participate in the Management Skills Assessment Program. As an assessor you will refine your group facilitation, performance feedback and coaching skills while supporting the development of entry-level managers and professional staff. You will enjoy very comfortable lodging, excellent food and beautiful mountain scenery while working with colleagues form various UC locations. There is no charge for assessors to attend MSAP. Please review this program description for additional details.
The emphasis is on recruiting participants who see the program as a valuable step in their own professional growth and whose supervisors wish to support and enhance such growth. Supervisors are encouraged to discuss the value of the program with employees in their departments. Interested employees may also bring the program to the attention of their supervisors.
When both the employee and the supervisor agree that the program would be of benefit, the supervisor nominates the employee for participation by completing a Statement of Purpose form. The nominee completes the MSAP Assessee Information form, the Tell us About Yourself form and turns them in along with the Statement of Purpose to Training and Development (Mail code 3160 / Fax 8645).
