To PPS Preparers and Reviewers,
The PPS freeze which started on Sept 8 for the initial furlough implementation has been lifted and it is now OK to resume EDB activity. Most of the affected population has now been set up for the salary reduction and corresponding furlough accrual in PPS. You can see the added salary reduction distribution lines for this population on the IAPP or IAPT screens.
There are a number of individuals with combination appointments (academics with stipends) for whom the system programming was unable to make PPS adjustments--these are being worked on as this note goes to press. Rather than hold up PPS activity for the majority of affected employees who were processed OK we are declaring an end to the freeze.
Remember that the recent implementation includes only non-represented staff and academics who are not otherwise excluded due to funding, visa status, START participation, etc., as noted on the UCSB Furlough/Salary Reduction website.
