RE: UCSB Children's Day
The UCSB Childcare Advisory Committee is pleased to offer the 6th Annual UCSB Children's Day on Friday, August 21, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This special outreach event will introduce the children of UCSB faculty, staff and students to many different aspects of our UCSB community. Children ages 5-14 will have the chance to create a community mural, handle sea animals, discover dinosaurs, scrimmage with the men's national championship soccer team, experience "weird science" and more.
Space is limited to 100 children on a first-come, first-served basis. For safety reasons, all children ages 5 and 6 must be accompanied for the entire event by a parent or guardian. Parents of older children are also welcome to join the fun and accompany their children. Online registration, forms and a complete program are now available at:
http://childcare.sa.ucsb.edu/childrensday/index.aspx
Hard copies of all consent forms and a copy of the child's medical insurance card must be sent to Julia Fuchs at Human Resources (mail code 3160) by 5:00pm on Friday, August 14th.
Volunteers are needed to accompany the children on the tracks, assist with set up, and to help us enjoy the pizza lunch afterwards. To volunteer, please register online at:

Children's Day is sponsored by the UCSB Childcare Advisory Committee (CCAC) and made possible by generous contributions from many different units on campus, as well as the UCSB faculty, staff, and students who volunteer their time, effort, and good cheer.
Hope to see you and your kid(s) on August 21st!
