As the University of California confronts the challenges brought about by the global economic crisis and the downturn in state funding, questions
about the university¹s budget are frequently raised. In response, the UC Office of the President has prepared a fact sheet that answers these
frequently asked questions and addresses a number of myths about the funding of the university's operations. The Office of the President has
