RE: Change in Staff and Academic Reduction in Time (START) Program
As stated in our 2/20/09 memo, the START program has recently been modified to lower the minimum allowable reduction in time from 10% to 5%, effective March 1, 2009. Although START's original reduction range (10% - 50%) is available for ALL non-probationary career staff employees (represented and non-represented), and academic appointees (except those in faculty and student academic titles or postdoctoral scholars), use of the new 5% minimum for represented employees is dependent upon agreement by the applicable union. At this time, only the following groups of represented employees are eligible to use the 5% reduction minimum:
CX - Clerical
NX - Nurses
LX - Librarians
Human Resources will continue to notify the campus regarding other union agreements on this program change if/when they occur.
