UCSB is a member of the Coastal Housing Partnership, a non-profit
organization that provides employees with housing assistance benefits.
Coastal Housing Partnership discount programs remove some of the obstacles
to home ownership by reducing the down payment and the closing costs
associated with a home purchase.
The Coastal Housing Partnership offers a free one-hour Home Buying
Education Seminar that outlines the discount programs that are available to
UCSB employees and explains:
- the home loan process: difference between pre-approval and pre-qualification, qualifying for a loan, steps of the loan process
- how much loan you can afford: components of housing expense, housing and debt ratios
- understanding the value of credit scores
- how loans are prices; type of loans available
- Coastal Housing program details: how you can save money on the upfront costs of your home purchase
