"You Don't Have to Be Crazy to See a Psychiatrist; Demystifying Psychiatry"
There are many misperceptions about psychiatry. For example, only crazy or really troubled people see psychiatrists; that psychiatrists just push pills; that medications psychiatrists use have terrible side effects; that medications cause suicide and so on. This workshop will cover topics including myths and misperceptions about psychotropic medications, interactions between medical and psychiatric conditions, advances in psychopharmacology for treatment of psychiatric and chemical dependency problems, attention to energetic healing, and coordination of psychotherapy and psychopharmacological treatment.
