The last day for UCSB Benefits Office assistance is Tuesday, November 24, 2009. The Benefits Office closes at 4:00pm.
All changes made during Open Enrollment will be effective January 1, 2010.

This is the time of year to review your health and welfare benefits and decide whether to make changes. During Open Enrollment you may make the following changes or additions to your UC sponsored Health and Benefits plans.
Health Plan Choices
- Enroll in or opt out of UC-sponsored medical, dental, and vision plans
- Transfer to a different medical or dental plan
- Add eligible family members
Other Choices
- Enroll or re-enroll in Health Flexible Spending Account (Health FSA) program
- Enroll or re-enroll in Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DepCare FSA) program
- Enroll in the ARAG Legal plan
- Change participation in Tax Savings on Insurance Premiums (TIP) program

website. Transactions must be completed by 5:00 pm (PST) on
November 24.
If you need assistance with your online enrollment, please feel free to
contact the benefits office (x2489) or the person in your department
who handles benefits information.
If you are satisfied with your current coverage and do not need to make
any changes for 2010, you do not need to take any action during Open
Enrollment, except if you wish to enroll or re-enroll in a Flexible
Spending Account.
All Open Enrollment changes will be effective January 1, 2010.

What’s new for 2010 – At Your Service
At the Open Enrollment website (http://atyourservice.ucop.edu), you’ll be able to review your current plan enrollments; read about plan benefits, services, and changes for 2010; see what the medical plan rates for 2010 will be; and use some helpful planning tools.
2010 Medical Insurance Costs (print flyer)
- Premiums have gone up slightly for both UC and for most faculty and
staff.
- Rates shown indicate only proposed rates for union-represented employees and are subject to ongoing collective bargaining as appropriate.
- In 2010, UC continues to pay the entire cost of your coverage for dental and vision.
Very few changes to medical, dental and vision plans in 2010.
- Copays for generic prescription drugs will decrease by $5 for most plans.
- Benefits have been enhanced for some plans to comply with the Federal Mental Health Parity Act. Out-of-network benefits have been added to Anthem Plus and CIGNA HRA PPO.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
- " Members must RE-ENROLL in their Health or Dependent Care accounts to continue contributions in 2010. FSAs are also open to new members.
ARAG Legal Plan is OPEN for new enrollments.
StayWell Health Management Program
- This no-cost, voluntary, confidential wellness program – featuring a personal health assessment and gift certificate for completing the assessment – is available to employees and their covered family members in all medical plans except Kaiser. Kaiser has its own integrated wellness program.
- In 2010 the incentive for completing the Health Assessment will be a $100 gift card for employees and $50 for spouse/domestic partner. Health Assessments must be completed between January 5 and April 15, 2010 to receive the gift card.
- Union Participation: Employees represented by UC-AFT and SETC are eligible to participate in the StayWell program. Employees represented by other UC unions are not eligible for StayWell because participation was not agreed to on behalf of their members during the collective bargaining process.
