Disability (for non work related injury/illness)
UC sponsored insurance which provides basic benefits to eligible employees unable to work due to a pregnancy or a non-work-related disabling injury or illness. The plan pays 55% of your eligible earnings up to $800 a month for up to six months following a waiting period.
Employee paid insurance which provides benefits to eligible employees unable to work due to a pregnancy or disabling injury or illness. Supplemental Disability and Short-Term Disability Plan benefits, combined with other sources of income(if applicable), pay 70% of your eligible earnings up to $10,000 a month for up to 12 months.Waiting Period
A period of consecutive days of Total or Partial Disability for which no benefit is payable. The waiting periods are 7 day, 30 day, 90 day and 180 day. The period for which a benefit is payable will begin on the later of the completion of the waiting period or the exhaustion of accrued sick leave up to 22 working days.I am enrolled in Short-term Disability with an automatic 7 day waiting period
