Temp Reclasses & Stipends

Temporary Stipend
An administrative stipend may be paid to an employee in a non-represented, exempt title who is temporarily assigned responsibilities of a higher level position or significant duties not normally a part of the employee's regular position.Stipends for employees are appropriate when increased responsibility lasts for one month or longer with a maximum duration of one year. Extensions beyond one year may be considered.
Temporary Reclass
The temporary assignment of a majority (over 50%) of duties into a title which carries a higher salary maximum is defined as a temporary upward reclassification. This type of reclassification will require a temporary job title code change. For non-represented positions, these appointments must be for a minimum of 4 weeks with a maximum of one year, unless an extension is approved by Human Resources up to a maximum of two years.
